Influence of Structural Factor on Mechanical Characteristics of Austenitic Steels in Liquid Lead at Elevated Temperatures

Keywords

Abstract

The influence of the structural factor (grain size) on the mechanical characteristics of austenitic steel (Fe–18Cr–10Ni–1Ti) in a vacuum and a liquid lead medium was studied. It was shown that increase in grain size of austenitic steel shows a slight decrease in the tensile strength of material in both vacuum and liquid lead. Plasticity (elongation) also decreases both with increasing grain size and with increasing temperature.
